Portrait of Dana Claxton
Leading up to acclaimed Canadian artist Dana Claxton receiving the Governor General’s Award, MAKE ME was commissioned by the Government of Canada to capture her story.
The challenge was to distill a remarkable career into a precise three-minute film.
To do this, we spent a day with Dana, getting to know her and her work, and a second day filming. Her openness and generosity shaped a candid and powerful interview. Combined with footage captured on the UBC and Emily Carr campuses, along with selections from her archive, the film offers a concise but meaningful portrait of her artistic legacy.
